Our Vision
Our vision of change in the transportation industry is one of a small group of dedicated individuals challenging widely-held assumptions about what can and can't be accomplished and about what is and isn't possible to achieve.
Our research and analysis of the automotive and aviation industries has led us to conclude that it just might be possible to create a new generation of lightweight, fuel-efficient cars, while at the same time inventing a totally new design for a flying car.
Our curiosity compelled us to start working on our far-fetched concept. And each day that concept inches closer and closer to reality.
We Believe
> That sometime in the near future you will be able to purchase a car for the U.S. market that gets over 100 mpg. That car will be lightweight (body in white made primarily of composite materials) and will have a hybrid electric
power train. This vehicle will get most of its power from the electric power grid by charging its batteries at home or in public spaces. It will meet crashworthiness requirements and be as crashworthy as existing cars. Its general form factor and performance will be conventional (2 rows of 2 seats, 4 wheels, 2 or 4 doors). Its design will be modern and
eye catching. It will sell for under $40,000.
> That the U.S. market alone for this car is, for all intents and purposes, unlimited.
> That it is unlikely that current automobile manufacturers are going to build that vehicle.
A startup automobile manufacturing company, modeled after high-tech startups, is the most likely to design, build, and market this new car.
> That we are going to be that company.
> That the basic design goals necessary to build a 100+ mpg car (fourfold characteristics of lightweight, aerodynamics, battery & gasoline powered and efficient drive train) are the same necessary to build an airplane/car hybrid.
> That this flying car can cruise at 25,000 feet at 200 MPH TAS and have a useful load of about
1,200 lbs and a range of about 1,000 statue miles.
> That the U.S. market for a flying car is in the 1,000-2,000 units per year range at a price point of approximately $500,000.
> That other design hurdles (folding wings, power plant, weight and balance, handling and aerodynamics on the ground and in the air) will all be overcome by a small dedicated team in a revolutionary company.
> That we are going to be that company as well.
